About Baan Yaai
βBaan Yaaiβ means "Grandmaβs Home" in Thai. This was the special place where all our family members would go to eat the best Thai street food. Grandma's dishes were basic with simple ingredients, but were very delicious and tasty. She prepared her dishes the same as the food stalls and corner cafes in Bangkok, but with loving care. Therefore, we infuse love and care into our Thai comfort food in the form of Thai street food, which we proudly prepare for you here at Baan Yaai.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Overall, this place is the perfect weeknight Thai spot. We loved the drunken noodles they are a must. The pad Thai was just average, not super flavorful. That being said, we will definitely be back and the service was great and fast.

The green curry is very tasty and flavorful. It was definitely the best green curry Iβve had. Our server was also really nice and she was very helpful.

The pineapple fried rice was really good, is a must try. They play Thai ballads on the radio, which makes the ambience so chill and cozy in a special way.

The food was mostly alright and but definitely quite expensive for what we received. Small portion sizeds and very typical and almost frozen-tasting food. It didn't smell or taste very fresh (especially bean sprouts). The menu stated gyoza was steamed but came out fried. This restaurant also has a European style where the closing time means they kick you out at that time so beware of that.

We spent over six weeks in Thailand in January and February this year and we ate well!! So trying to find an authentic Thai restaurant, we decided to give this a try! Weβre so glad we did as we felt that there flavors and taste were so reminiscent of all the food we ate at very local restaurants and vendors in Southern Thailand as well as Chiang Mai. We ordered green curry with chicken and the chicken pad Thai. We also ordered brown rice. The food was perfect and brought us back to our time earlier this year in Thailand. We coming back to try many different dishes in their menu!! Also service was excellent!!
